In addition to our core K-12 classroom programs, Junior Achievement of Central Maryland also offers a learning experience for 4th and 5th graders called JA BizTown®. This program encourages students to learn about the free enterprise system by running a simulated town economy for a day. After reviewing lessons with their teacher in the classroom, students come to JA BizTown to apply their learnings. Student experiences vary from working in a bank, a television station, or a retail store; to managing personal finance, writing checks, selling products and paying business bills. As a result, students realize the relationship between what they learned in school and how it applies to the real world of work.
